Photo Compression

Photo compression reduces the file size of images by removing redundant data or lowering quality imperceptibly, freeing up storage space on your phone without deleting photos.

Modern phone cameras produce increasingly large files — a single 48MP photo can be 10-15MB, and 4K videos consume hundreds of megabytes per minute. Photo compression shrinks these files by encoding them more efficiently, often reducing size by 50-80% with no visible quality loss.

There are two types of compression: lossy (reduces quality slightly for much smaller files) and lossless (preserves exact quality with smaller size reductions). For phone photos shared on social media or messaging apps, lossy compression at high quality settings is practically indistinguishable from the original.

SlimPix is One4Studio's photo and video compression app for iPhone. It processes everything on-device (your photos never leave your phone), supports HEIC, JPEG, and PNG photos plus all common video formats, and lets you control the compression level with visual before/after comparisons. Features include a Custom Picker for selecting specific files, Swipe Cleaner for reviewing photos, and Remove Clutter for finding duplicates.

Tip: SlimPix works 100% offline — no internet connection needed. This makes it a privacy-first choice compared to cloud-based compression services that upload your photos to remote servers.
