Privacy Policy - One4Home

This Privacy Policy explains how One4Home, an Android home screen and app launcher, handles information. One4Home is developed by One4Studio, an independent app studio operated by Vuk Andric in Serbia. One4Studio is the controller for the processing described in this policy and can be contacted at support.one4studio@gmail.com.

One4Home has no user accounts, does not display third-party ads and does not sell personal data. Most launcher data stays on your device. The limited online processing described below is used to provide weather, online content, purchases, crash diagnostics, support and, when you allow it, product analytics and Google Ads measurement.

Installed Apps

A launcher must identify launchable apps to build the Home screen, app drawer, search, folders, shortcuts, icon-pack matching and layout restore. One4Home therefore reads app names, package and component identifiers and app icons on your device. The complete installed-app inventory is not sold or used for advertising, behavioural analytics or cross-app tracking.

Cloud icon packs are delivered per icon to avoid downloading an entire large pack. One4Home compares the pack index with installed launchable apps locally, then requests matching icon files and any other icon you explicitly browse or choose. It does not upload a single complete installed-app list. However, the content-delivery provider receives the request IP address and each requested file path. Because an icon path can be specific to an app, those requests can reveal a subset of installed apps for which icons are downloaded. One4Home shows this explanation before the first cloud-pack download.

Data Stored or Processed on Your Device

Home pages, app positions, folders, dock items and widgets.
Launcher, drawer, gesture, material, icon-pack and theme settings.
Hidden-app choices, drawer chips, pinned apps and gesture targets.
Custom icon images, wallpapers and themes you explicitly choose.
Optional notification counts, titles, text and tap targets used for Home-screen badges and notification previews.
Optional contact names and phone numbers used to show local Smart Search results after you grant Contacts access.
Optional calendar event titles and times used to show the local Today agenda after you grant Calendar access.
A short local cache of weather results when weather is enabled.
Optional Room profile rules: schedules, connected Wi-Fi network names and places you explicitly save, plus local launch counts used for that profile's most-used apps. No location history is retained. Rules are included only in an explicit device backup, not in shared themes; review backups before sharing them.
Until you answer the measurement question, the names and times of the onboarding steps you saw (at most 16).

The optional Suggested apps row can request Android Usage Access. When enabled, One4Home reads a fourteen-day usage window, ranks package names in memory and does not store or upload the usage history. The feature is off by default and Android Settings controls the grant. Notification content is processed in memory on the device and is not sent to One4Studio. Contact and calendar content is also searched or displayed locally and is not uploaded by One4Home.

Optional Android Access

Approximate location is requested only if you enable local weather.
Room profile location access is offered only when you explicitly set up a Wi-Fi or location rule. Android requires location access to disclose a connected Wi-Fi network name. One4Home can use a precise location, or the approximate location you permit, to compare your current position with a saved place. This comparison happens on the device while Home is visible. No background location permission is requested, no continuous GPS tracking is started, and Room coordinates and network names are not uploaded to One4Studio or used for ads or analytics. You can disable the feature and delete individual rules in Studio.
Notification access is requested only if you enable notification badges. Android grants broad notification access; One4Home uses it only for counts and the previews shown in the launcher.
Contacts access is requested only if you choose to add contacts to Smart Search. Contact names and phone numbers are searched locally, are not uploaded to One4Studio or another provider, and are not used for advertising or analytics.
Calendar access is requested only if you choose to connect the Today agenda. One4Home reads upcoming event titles and times from Android's local calendar provider and does not upload or share your calendar content.
Accessibility access is offered only if you use a gesture that locks the screen. The service performs Android's global Lock screen action, cannot retrieve window content and discards the basic window-change event Android requires it to receive. Accessibility data is not stored or transmitted.
Usage access is offered only if you enable the Suggested apps row. One4Home uses a recent fourteen-day window to rank suggestions locally; it does not retain or upload app-usage history.
On older Android versions, One4Home may offer the narrower device-administrator force-lock permission instead. It is used only to lock the screen.

These features are optional. One4Home presents an in-app explanation before opening Android's permission screen, and access can be revoked in Android Settings.

Location and Weather

When weather is enabled, One4Home obtains an approximate location and rounds the coordinates to three decimal places before sending them directly over HTTPS to the Norwegian Meteorological Institute's MET Weather API. MET Norway returns the temperature and conditions. The result is cached locally for up to three hours; One4Home does not continuously track movement or request background location.

One4Studio does not receive or store these coordinates. Because the request goes directly from your phone, MET Norway receives the request IP address and coordinates in its access logs in Norway and handles them under its own privacy and retention practices. If you choose the U.S. National Weather Service as the weather source in One4Home's widget or Today settings, the same rounded coordinates are also sent directly over HTTPS to the National Weather Service API (api.weather.gov) to find the nearest official U.S. observation. MET Norway still provides the forecast, and is used on its own for places the National Weather Service does not cover. The National Weather Service receives the request IP address and coordinates in its own logs and handles them under the National Weather Service Privacy Policy. One4Studio does not receive these coordinates either.

If you choose a weather location yourself instead of following the phone, the town, city or postal code you type is sent to your phone's built-in geocoding service (on most phones provided by Google) to find matching places. If that service is unavailable or finds nothing, the same typed text is sent over HTTPS to Photon (photon.komoot.io), a public place-search service run by komoot that uses OpenStreetMap data. Your phone's coordinates are never sent with a search. These services receive the typed text and the request IP address and handle them under their own terms; see the komoot Privacy Policy. The place you pick is stored on your device, and its rounded coordinates are then used for weather as described above.

Themes, Icon Packs and Online Content

Optional online theme, wallpaper and cloud-icon shelves retrieve catalogues and files from One4Studio's content-delivery service, currently delivered using Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process IP addresses, request paths, time, device/network metadata and security signals to deliver content, prevent abuse and maintain the service. Apart from the per-icon behaviour explained above, One4Home does not add an account identifier to content requests.

Today News

If the Today news shelf is enabled, the default source sends the device's two-letter language code to One4Studio's cached news endpoint, currently hosted by Vercel, to retrieve GDELT headlines. Standard connection data such as the request IP address, time and network metadata may be processed by the hosting provider. If that source is unavailable, One4Home may request Wikimedia's public feed.

If you enter or choose an RSS or Atom feed, One4Home stores its URL on your device and connects directly to that feed host. That host receives the normal connection data. Up to four stories are cached locally for up to 48 hours. One4Home does not associate news choices with an account or use them for advertising.

Google Discover

If you install the optional One4Home Discover Companion and enable Google Discover, the companion creates a local Android connection between One4Home and the Google app installed on your device. The companion does not read, store or transmit feed content. Google provides and personalises the feed under your Google app and Google account settings. You can disable the page in One4Home or uninstall the companion at any time in Android Settings.

Crash Diagnostics

Google Play release builds use Firebase Crashlytics to identify and fix crashes. A crash report may include a Crashlytics installation identifier, device model, operating-system and app versions, crash time, stack trace and technical diagnostics. One4Home may also attach small non-personal state markers needed to reproduce a problem, such as whether Home or the Drawer was visible, the Drawer style and the number of apps shown. It does not attach app names, contact or calendar content, notification text, Home layouts or wallpaper images. Debug builds do not initialise Crashlytics. Crash diagnostics are separate from the optional analytics and advertising-measurement choice: declining that choice does not disable Crashlytics.

Product Analytics and Advertising Measurement

Google Play release builds include Firebase Analytics. One4Home asks whether you want to allow this measurement and starts all four Google Consent Mode signals denied. If you allow it, Firebase Analytics may process app-instance and device identifiers, campaign attribution, country, device and app information, and a deliberately small set of interactions: which onboarding steps were shown and whether onboarding was completed, confirmation that One4Home is the default launcher, Pro paywall views, plan selection and checkout progress. It does not receive your installed-app inventory, search text, contacts, calendars, notification content, Home layouts, theme names or wallpaper images. If you tap a link to another One4Studio app, a consent-controlled event records that app's package identifier, the link placement and whether the app was already installed. This is limited to our own app catalogue, not a list of your other apps.

The Android release includes the AD_ID permission and the ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID and ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION permissions supplied by Google's measurement SDK. They support advertising identifiers and campaign attribution; their presence in the APK is not your consent to use them. One4Home does not display third-party ads. Optional campaign measurement helps us assess ads for One4Home shown elsewhere. Before you agree, and if you choose "Not now" or dismiss the measurement question, all four consent signals remain denied. You can also turn off "Analytics & ad measurement" in Studio → Privacy without losing launcher or Pro features.

Onboarding steps shown before you answer the measurement question are kept only on your phone, as step names and times (at most 16). They are sent only if you allow measurement, and deleted without being sent if you decline.

With the same permission, One4Home also measures how well the launcher itself performs: how long Home takes to appear after it was restarted, why Android ended One4Home's previous run (for example to free memory), how much memory it was using at that moment, your device's memory class, and whether One4Home's notification and accessibility services were connected. These are coarse numbers and fixed labels only, with no app names, Home layouts or anything you type, and they help us find and fix slow starts on low-memory phones. They are not sent if you decline measurement.

Measurement helps One4Studio understand product conversion and which Google Ads campaigns lead to useful actions or purchases. Google Play and RevenueCat also process purchase and subscription events. Where a Firebase app-instance identifier is available with your permission, RevenueCat can attach it to purchase lifecycle events so aggregated revenue and subscription performance can be measured in Google Analytics and Google Ads. With the same consent, One4Home also sets the anonymous RevenueCat app-user ID as the Firebase Analytics user ID to associate those events. This is the same identifier shown as your Purchase support ID; it is not your name or email address. Declining or withdrawing consent clears the Analytics user ID and requests removal of the Firebase app-instance ID from RevenueCat. One4Home does not manually send a second purchase event from the device.

If you decline, One4Home keeps analytics storage, ad storage, ad-user data and ad-personalisation consent denied. Google may still receive limited consent-state or cookieless measurement signals where its Consent Mode supports them, without One4Home granting identifier storage. Declining therefore does not promise that every Google network connection stops. Crash diagnostics and the purchase and entitlement service described separately in this policy remain independent of this measurement choice. You can change the choice at any time in Studio → Privacy. Revoking consent affects future collection and does not automatically erase information already processed; contact us for a deletion request.

Purchases

Optional Pro access and priority icon-request credits are purchased through Google Play. RevenueCat manages purchase and entitlement status and processes an anonymous app-user identifier, product and transaction details, purchase history, device/OS information and service events needed to provide, restore, secure and analyse the purchase service. This is purchase and subscription analytics, not general launcher-behaviour analytics. One4Studio never receives your card number, Google password or full payment credentials.

Settings includes a copyable Purchase support ID so you can identify the anonymous RevenueCat record when contacting us. Opening the purchase support action may initialise RevenueCat if it has not already been initialised by a purchase feature.

Icon Requests You Choose to Send

One4Home can prepare an icon-request email for apps that an icon pack does not cover. Before One4Home prepares the request, it displays a separate in-app disclosure and asks for your affirmative consent. Nothing is sent automatically.

If you agree, select apps and send the email, One4Home transmits the selected app names, package and activity identifiers, app icons and icon-pack name to One4Studio at one4studioicons@gmail.com. One4Studio stores and uses this information only to create and prioritise missing icons for the requested icon pack. It is not sold, used for advertising or shared with advertisers. Your email provider may add your account details or signature under its own settings and privacy terms. You can review, edit or discard the message before sending; discarding it sends no app information to One4Studio.

Backup, Export and Device Transfer

Setup and theme exports are created only when you request them and are saved to a location you choose. Exports may contain launcher settings and app identifiers needed to reproduce the selected layout.

If Android system backup or device transfer is enabled, eligible launcher preferences may be stored in your personal Google backup under Google's terms. These preferences can include appearance settings and references to apps chosen for hidden lists, chips, pins or gestures. Device-bound Home/widget records, purchase caches, weather cache, custom icon files, retained wallpaper images, user-theme screenshots and downloaded cloud-pack files are excluded from One4Home's Android backup rules.

Why We Process Information

To provide requested launcher and purchase functionality and fulfil our contract with you.
With your choice or consent for optional location, notification, screen-lock, cloud-content and support features.
For legitimate interests such as secure content delivery, fraud prevention, crash diagnosis, service reliability and responding to support requests, where those interests do not override your rights.
To meet accounting, tax, consumer-protection and legal duties.

Retention and Deletion

Local launcher data remains until you remove it, clear One4Home's data or uninstall the app, subject to an Android backup you enabled. The local weather cache expires after three hours. Cloud-delivery logs, Today-news cache (up to 48 hours), Crashlytics reports, weather access logs, Firebase Analytics data and RevenueCat/Google purchase records are retained by One4Home or those providers as described here and under their policies, and as needed for security, debugging, measurement, purchase restoration, accounting, fraud prevention and legal compliance. Icon-request email remains in the sender's and recipient's mail systems until deleted under their respective retention rules.

You can email us to request access, correction or deletion of data controlled by One4Studio. For purchase-related requests, include the Purchase support ID from One4Home Settings. Some purchase and legal records may need to be retained even after a deletion request.

Service Providers and International Transfers

Google Play for distribution, updates, backup and purchases.
Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics for consent-controlled product/campaign measurement (Analytics) and separate crash diagnostics (Crashlytics) in Google Play release builds.
RevenueCat for purchases and entitlement management.
MET Norway for optional weather.
Your phone's geocoding service and Photon (komoot, OpenStreetMap data) when you search for a weather location.
Vercel, GDELT, Wikimedia or the RSS/Atom host you choose for the optional Today news shelf.
Cloudflare for online-content delivery and security.
Your email provider when you choose to send an icon request.

Some providers process data outside Serbia or the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on adequacy decisions, contractual safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism used by the provider.

Security

One4Home minimises permissions, uses Android app-private storage, bounds imported and downloaded files, limits downloads to expected HTTPS hosts, excludes sensitive and device-bound records from backup, and encrypts the local priority-credit ledger where Android security support is available. Providers receive only the data needed for the requested feature. No technical system is completely secure, but we review these controls as the app changes.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, receive portable data and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. Contact us at support.one4studio@gmail.com. We do not use One4Home data for decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects.

Children's Privacy

One4Home is not designed for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Where local law requires a higher age for independent consent, a parent or guardian should supervise use of optional online features.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when One4Home, its providers or legal requirements change. The current version and updated date remain on this page. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or release notes where appropriate.
