Privacy Policy - Pausa

One4Studio (“we”, “our”, or “us”) built Pausa as a private tracker for perimenopause, menopause and hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Because Pausa handles sensitive health information, privacy is the foundation of how it is built, not an afterthought. This Privacy Policy explains what data Pausa handles, where it lives, and the choices you have.

In short: Pausa has no user accounts and no servers of its own. Your health data is stored on your device. We cannot see it, and we never sell it.

Data You Enter Stays on Your Device

Everything you log in Pausa — symptoms, notes, bleeding and cycle entries, medications and HRT, doses and schedules, lab results, lifestyle factors, and your self-described stage — is stored locally on your device using Apple’s on-device storage (SwiftData). It is not uploaded to us. We have no account system and no database that receives your entries. If you delete the app (and you do not use iCloud sync, described below), this data is permanently removed.

Optional iCloud Sync

Pausa can optionally sync your data across your own devices using Apple iCloud. This feature is turned off by default. When you turn it on, your data is stored in the private database of your personal iCloud account and synced by Apple between devices signed in to that account. We do not have access to your iCloud data, and it is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. You can turn sync off at any time in the app.

Apple Health (HealthKit)

If you choose to connect Apple Health, Pausa reads — on a strictly read-only basis — health metrics to show them alongside your symptoms and enrich your doctor report. These may include sleep, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, overnight wrist temperature, respiratory rate, steps, exercise time, body weight and blood pressure.

• This data is read into the app on your device and is never written back to Apple Health, uploaded, or shared with us.
• You grant access per data type, and you can revoke it at any time in the iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.
• Data obtained through HealthKit is never used for advertising or sold, and is not shared with third parties.

Notifications

If you enable medication reminders, a daily check-in, or an appointment reminder, these are scheduled locally on your device. Their content is generated on-device and is not sent through or stored on any server.

Face ID / Passcode Lock

You can optionally require Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode to open Pausa. Authentication is handled entirely by iOS. Pausa never receives or stores your biometric data or passcode.

Subscriptions & Purchases

Pausa offers an optional upgrade, Pausa Pro, as a subscription or a one-time purchase, processed entirely through the Apple App Store. We do not collect or have access to your payment information, card details or Apple ID. Subscription status is managed by RevenueCat, which receives only an anonymous app-user identifier — not your name, email, or health data.

No Analytics, No Advertising, No Tracking

Pausa contains no analytics SDKs, no tracking pixels, and no advertising frameworks. We do not track your activity across apps or websites, we do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell or share your data with data brokers. We do not collect your health data at all, so there is nothing for us to monetize.

Sharing the Doctor Report

Pausa can generate a PDF report from your data so you can share it with your doctor. This report is created on your device. If you choose to share it — by email, message, printing or otherwise — you control where it goes. Anything you share leaves Pausa’s control and becomes subject to the terms of whatever service or person you send it to.

Your Rights & Control

Because your data lives on your device, you have full control at all times:

• Export: You can export a full JSON backup, or a CSV of your data, from within the app.
• Delete: You can erase all your data in the app (Settings → Delete all data), or by uninstalling Pausa.
• Revoke permissions: Health, notification and Face ID permissions can be changed at any time in iOS Settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including rights to access, correct, delete or port your data. Because we do not collect or hold your personal data, you can exercise these rights directly on your device. If you have questions, contact us at the address below.

Children’s Privacy

Pausa is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Medical Disclaimer

Pausa is a tracking and journaling tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or provide medical advice, and its patterns and reports are informational only. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional about your symptoms and treatment.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Pausa after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
