App Drawer

The app drawer is the scrollable list or grid of all installed apps on your Android phone, accessed by swiping up or tapping a drawer icon on the home screen.

The app drawer is Android's equivalent of the iOS App Library — a centralized place where every installed app lives. Unlike your home screen (which shows only apps you've placed there), the app drawer contains everything, usually in alphabetical order or sorted by categories.

Third-party launchers give you extensive control over the app drawer. You can change the column count, adjust icon size, hide specific apps, organize into folders or tabs, and even add a search bar. The app drawer inherits your icon pack, so themed icons appear there too.

Some minimalist launchers like Niagara take a different approach — instead of a traditional grid drawer, they display a vertical alphabetical list that's easy to scroll with one hand. This pairs well with outline icon packs like Vera Outline or Caelus for a clean, text-focused look.

Tip: You can customize the app drawer separately from your home screen in most launchers. Try increasing icon size and hiding labels in the drawer for a cleaner look.
