The art of mending a broken heart with gold

Kintsugi is the Japanese craft of repairing broken pottery with gold, so the break becomes the most beautiful part of the piece. Every day of no contact fills another crack in your heart with gold.

What Kintsu does

You don’t have to feel strong today. You only have to not reach out — Kintsu is built to help you do exactly that, one golden day at a time.

🏺

A heart that heals where you can see it

Watch a dark ceramic heart slowly gild itself as your no-contact streak grows. Day 90 it's whole again — and worth more for having been broken. Put it on your home screen as a widget.

🆘

A panic button for 2am

When you want to reach out, press one button and hear a message you recorded to yourself on day one — your own voice, talking you down. Breathe first, decide after.

✉️

The Vault

Write what you wanted to send, and seal it until day 90. The urge gets somewhere to go that isn't their inbox — and later you get to read who you were when you wrote it.

👁️

Two streaks, not one

Texting them resets the clock. But checking their socials is the relapse nobody tracks — so Kintsu gives “clean eyes” its own streak, counted separately.

📖

The 90-day mend program

A short, honest lesson each day. No clinical jargon and no brochure voice — just what actually helps, in the voice of a craftsman.

🔒

Nobody is watching

No account, no servers. Your journal and letters sync through your own iCloud, so a new phone never costs you your streak — and Kintsu can never read any of it. Lock it behind Face ID.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a no-contact rule?

No contact means deliberately not reaching out to an ex for a set period — commonly 30, 60 or 90 days — so the attachment can settle instead of being reopened every few days. Kintsu counts the days for you and gives you somewhere to put the urge when it hits.

Why 90 days?

Ninety days is long enough for the early spikes of withdrawal to flatten out and for your routine to reshape itself without them in it. Kintsu's heart is fully gilded on day 90, and the mend program runs one short lesson a day across the same window.

What happens if I break no contact?

The streak resets, and Kintsu doesn't shame you for it — the point is the next day, not the last one. Kintsu tracks texting and checking their socials as two separate streaks, so one slip doesn't erase the other kind of progress.

Is Kintsu therapy?

No. Kintsu is a self-help and journaling tool, not therapy and not medical care. It does not diagnose or treat any condition. If you are in crisis or struggling with your mental health, please contact a qualified professional or a local crisis line.

Is my journal private?

Yes. There is no account and no server. Your streaks, recordings and Vault letters live on your device and sync only through your own Apple iCloud account, which we cannot read. You can lock the whole app behind Face ID.

Will it be free?

The streak, the healing heart and the panic button are always free. Kintsu Pro unlocks the full 90-day program and unlimited Vault letters as a subscription through your App Store account.
